"tumblr is great except for…"
the neo-nazis? the violent misogynists? the white supremacists? the glorification of mass murderers? the blogs committed to telling marginalized people to commit suicide? the pedophiles?
ah, yes, clearly it’s the marginalized people trying to get rights. they are the problem here. because they’re occasionally overzealous. or something.
OP’s logic behind this kind of bugs me. See, sjw’s aren’t just all the people on here who want equality for all and are through taking shit from oppressors. I love that. I support that. I hate the sexists and the racists and the bigots as much as anyone rightfully should. However, the sjw’s are a different sub-group of these movements altogether. The sjw’s, from my perspective and perceived perspective of others like-minded to me, are a group that find social justice problems in everything. Not everything is an issue, obviously, but the “sjw’s” make it an issue because they perceive anything that wasn’t done by people fighting for rights is offensive in some way and should be stopped. That’s not how it is. Plus many of the sjw’s are people who hate on cisgendered people and straight people and white people simply for being cisgendered or straight or white. Fuck the bigots. Fuck the racists. Fuck the sexists. Fuck all of them. I hate them too. And I fucking completely understand why people who have been oppressed by certain kinds of people would be very cautious around them- I totally get that. But people get hated on by social justice warriors because they are cis and white and straight, three things they cannot control just as nobody could control being black or gay or trans. It’s an inescapable identity, not a choice, as has been identified and established. Sjw’s are awful not for wanting equality for everyone and doing the best they can to get there, but for doing so by being unnecessarily obnoxious and aggressive. There are many things that need attention in order for society to be the best it can be, at least someday. But not everything is a problem.
